Privacy Policy
Last Updated: March 13, 2026
1. Information We Collect
When you log in to use RoHunt, we collect only the necessary information to provide your account features:
- Authentication Data: Your Discord User ID, username, discriminator (if applicable), and avatar hash (provided by Discord OAuth).
- Optional Contact Data: You may choose to provide your email address in your Account Settings for communication purposes.
- Account Activity: We store your saved jobs, notification rule preferences, background check search history, and portfolio review submissions and results.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your account information strictly to provide and improve the Platform's core features:
- To authenticate and manage your secure login session.
- To load your personalized Dashboard, including your Saved Jobs and Notification Rules.
- To send you direct messages via our Discord Bot when new jobs match your custom filters (only if you create notification rules).
- To track your daily usage quotas for tools like the Background Check and Portfolio Review features.
- To process portfolio content you submit through our AI-powered Portfolio Review feature by sending it to OpenAI's API for analysis.
- To gather completely anonymous analytics on platform performance to help us fix bugs and improve the site.
3. Information Sharing
We respect your privacy. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We only share necessary authentication data with Discord's API to keep you logged in and to send you the notifications you explicitly request.
4. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your account data only for as long as your account is active. You have full control over your data and the right to delete your account entirely at any time via the Settings page (`/settings`). Deleting your account will immediately and permanently erase your user profile, active sessions, saved jobs, notification rules, and check history from our database.
5. Cookies and Local Storage
We use essential cookies to maintain your logged-in state across requests. This cookie is HTTP-only, secure, and encrypted. We also use a temporary cookie to prevent security attacks during the Discord login process. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies. Additionally, we use your browser's local storage and session storage to remember minor UI preferences (such as dismissed banners) and temporary browsing state. This data stays on your device, is not transmitted to our servers, and contains no personal information.
6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures, including HTTPS encryption, secure cookies, and strict database policies to protect your account information.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Platform after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
8. Contact Us
If you have any questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy or our data practices, please contact us through our official support channels on Discord.
